This is a legendary surf spot known to some as La Fonda. Within a short walk, is Palapa Jose which is restaurant and bar right on the water. Also close by are the the Iguanas Patio Bar, Hotel La Mision, and Hotel La Fonda. Day use is $5 per day per car and overnight will cost you $7 per car. Motorhomes overnight are $15. with no hook ups available. Camping and assorted sports equipment is available for rent at The Surf Shop.

Some of the best beach camping in Baja Norte is in Alisitos and La Salina area.

Area De Descanso KM60

At the La Mision River mouth, there is a large day use public beach with lots of parking right on both sides of the Toll Road. They rent horses, and have lots of vendors selling their wares. No overnight camping is permitted at this area.

Campo Mal Paso KM71

(known to some as Panchos) A few miles further south of the big river bridge, at an unmarked Toll Road exit, is a very large and popular camp ground, right on the sand (no bluff) called Pancho's. It is at a pedestrian overcrossing and has good exit and entry from the south bound toll road. It has about one half mile of sandy beachfront with firm enough surfaces to drive on without getting stuck. This is not considered a good surfing beach. Pancho's is heavily used in the summer by Mexican families, looking to escape the hot inland. They also have showers and toilets, but you might have a long walk. The rate per car per day is $5. The rate for trailers or mmotoromes is $10.

Rancho Girasol KM71.5

Just south of Pancho's on the Toll Road is another beach camp called Rancho Girasol. It can be accessed from the South bound side of the Toll road at an unmarked exit. There is a entry through a chain link fence at a big double gate. This area has quite soft and sandy spots. The camping fee is $5. per night per vehhicle. Toilets and showers are available. This is not a surfer spot but if you like sand, you will love this place.

Baja Seasons Km73

At Km 73 is a large and modern RV park called Baja Seasons. They do not cater to tent campers, but have an area for group tent camping. This is a 5 star RV park with all of the amenities. This facility is not exactly inexpensive.

El Mirador Km84

A spectacular overlook of the Pacific Ocena on a par with places in Big Sur. There is no beach access or camping here.

Playa Salsipuedes Km88

The next public camping area is called Salsipuedes which means that once you get down to it, you may not get out. It is down a steep,and dusty dirt road. It is very popular with surfers. Salsipuedes has a exit sign from the Toll Road which is well marked. This is a rocky but spectacular beach . Day use for surfing is $5. Per car. Overnight camping is $7. per car. They have furnished cabins for $35. per night. There is water but no electricity.

Playa Saldamando Km94

A well marked steep dirt road takes you down the hill to this area. They have furnished trailers for $20. $30. and $35. The trailers have water but no electricity.Camping is $8. per car per night. This place has lots of beach with secluded camp sights. This is a popular surfing spot.

Playa San Miguel

Right past the Ensenada toll plaza This is a legendary surfing beach with camping for $8. per night.
